This is a great place to stay that's close to the Weirs

My wife and I have been staying at the Birch Knoll Motel each summer for about five years now. This is a family owned and run business that really goes the extra mile to make their guests feel comfortable. The rooms are clean and well maintained and the service is friendly. Each room has a refrigerator and TV and there is a game room with barbeque’s available for family gatherings. It is located close to Weirs beach and shopping. One caveat, book early during Bike Week and the Nascar Races.

Like a second home

We take one trip a year to this area. This motel is in an excellent location, within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. The property is located on the edge of the lake, offering a beautiful view. The heated pool and outdoor grill area make for an excellent place to wind down at the end of the day. The rooms are modern, well-kept and the service is exceptional. This is a great place for families and couples, or the occasional pass-thru visitor.

Great location, great time

We stayed at Birch Knoll for a long weekend last summer. The hotel was great for the price. It was well kept, and the rooms were clean. There was access to a grill and rec room, which we used one night. We stocked up the local grocery store and took all the stuff back and had a cookout. There were places to eat outside, so we did not have to mess up our room. The owner on duty was extremely nice and helpful. Anything we needed or thought of, he assisted us. The outdoor pool was kept warm because it was covered most of the time it was not in use. We seemed to be the only ones enjoying it. The location is perfect. Although a lengthy walk, the drive to weirs beach (where the drive through, waterpark, beach, arcades and little shops are) was less than five minutes. This was a perfect little gem of a hotel. We will be back.

A Great place in a lovely setting

Stayed at Birch Knoll as a three night stopover on our tour of New England. We arrived in the evening after phoning in the morning to confirm availability to be greeted by the owner who ‘was wondering where the brits were’. He was very friendly and had lived in the UK some time ago so we immediately felt at home. Our room was on the first floor of the main block of rooms, it was clean, tidy and really quite big. It also had a fabulous view of the lake and surrounding countryside. The motel gives guests access to a small mooring and a little patch of beach on the lake where we sat and watched the sun go down on our first night, really beautiful and very peaceful. Access to shops and restaurants is good with plenty of choice available, also a lot of lovely treks and scenic drives in the area. If i ever get the chance to go back I’d stay here without a doubt.

A surprising treat

We were late trying to get a place to stay for Bike Week 2007. Weren’t expecting much of a place when we booked at Birch Knoll, being one of a few available at the time. Upon arrival we were so surprised to find this place to be very pleasing, close to Weirs beach, clean, with a beach across the street, heated outside pool, rec room, ice machine, pad for bike kick stand, Grills, benches all around decks, and great maid service. Had most all the comforts of home and the people were so friendly. While we were there we had already talked about staying there again soon. Told all our friends about this place. This is one of Laconia’s best kept secrets.

Very nice, very clean, friendly staff

Stayed here because it was the only place we could find….but it turned out to be very pleasant. Spacious, clean rooms, view of the lake, with a dock, nice pool….shower massager….very clean and comfortable. Would stay here again. Liked — Cleanliness, view of the lake, location an friendly staff. Would you recommend this hotel to a friend? Yes. I recommend this hotel for A romantic getaway, Girlfriend getaway, Older travelers, Families with young children, Families with teenagers, Tourists

Birch Knoll: Great Value for $

We had our yearly family reunion at the Birch Knoll and it was wonderful. A good value for the money: rooms and heated pool were both clean, there’s access to the bay with a nice dock and shaded sitting area. The Birch Knoll is definitely one of the more modern places in Laconia. There’s a game room complete with pool table, video games for the kids and information about local attractions The BBQ area makes it convenient for families to grill out (and chill out!) while enjoying the motel grounds. We’re already planning next year’s stay. Liked — A lot nicer than most of the places in Laconia.
